The ASU is campaigning for a NDIS Portable Training Scheme to ensure you have access to paid training.

The NDIS needs a highly skilled, qualified workforce capable of delivering high-quality services.

But with no specific funds for workforce training in the NDIS, there’s been a rapid decline in training and skills development.

Members of the Australian Services Union have developed a plan to address the shortfalls in NDIS workforce training and skills development.

The ASU has invested in independent economic modelling that shows an NDIS Portable Training Scheme will cost the government less than one cent for every dollar they spend on the NDIS.

There needs to be specific funding for all NDIS workers to access accredited training and build long term careers in the sector.

HOW WILL IT WORK?

For every 50 hours of NDIS work, you will receive training credit towards paid time off for free accredited training.

For the average NDIS worker that means three days of paid accredited training every year.

The credits are yours. They transfer with you from employer to employer within the NDIS.
